Recent episodes of WatchMeCode have focused on the production readiness and deployment of the media service. Now that it's up and running, and serving files as expected, it's time to move into some more advanced features for the business side of things.
For example, wouldn't it be nice to know how many downloads of a given file there are? When those downloads are happening, and from where?
Having analytics and statistics for the download can provide a lot of insight and value. But how do we get this information without having to sift through horrible log files and log parsers?
The answer, is Keen.io – an analytics service that allows you to push events into their system and retrieve charts and graphs as a result. And in this episode, the start of the “Analytics and Tracking” series, you'll be introduced to Keen.io and it's basic use. But stay tuned, as upcoming episodes will dive further into more advanced scenarios with Keen, and how to properly push data to it from back-end services.
